I am fortunate to have the opportunity to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Catherine Calcutt, who is currently employed at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi (ACS), in the United Arab Emirates. ACS is a major international school serving the expatriate community of Abu Dhabi, and enjoys a tremendous reputation, both regionally and internationally. Catherine has been teaching grade one during the past three years.
It is a pleasure to describe Catherine’s many fine personal and professional qualities. She is intelligent, caring, responsible, energetic, multitalented and resourceful. She maintains very high standards of professionalism and effectively combines her positive attitude, energy, humor, and knowledge to gain the highest level of respect from students, parents, administrators, and colleagues. Catherine is extremely well organized, establishes an emotionally safe environment for her students, encourages her students to put forth their best effort, and is a superior role model. She is held in high regard at ACS and I greatly appreciate her many valuable contributions.
As an educator, Catherine can be described as a “master teacher.” She maintains high, yet achievable academic standards. She implements meaningful educational practices, and is a successful motivator of students. She is an effective team member and works exceptionally well with others. In addition to her many talents as a teacher, Catherine has contributed to the school in many ways, including: President of The Arabian Reading Association; committee work in social studies and science; member of the committee to write the school’s mission statement; after school activities involving jump roping and board games; and a volunteer for EMAC events. Her assistance in the total school program has been greatly appreciated.
It is truly a privilege to work with Catherine. She is an excellent person and teacher. I give her my highest recommendation for your consideration.
